This website is the ongoing documentation of the pain and suffering involved with the building and campaigning a 6.5 meter “mini transat” race boat. The project started for us with the build of a carbon prototype for a friend and customer from France, and then a second boat for Drew. There was supposed to be a third boat for Katie, but time and money got in the way, and it was never completed. USA 577 is however sailing, and 2009 will be it’s second season of racing. we ihope to have a better result this year with some optimization taking place, as well as new sails that fit the boat! We also need to spend some more time on the boat getting used to it, as time was extremely short before the last race!
